Revised Open Play – Due to the relaxing of the COVID-19 restrictions, some of the session coordinators wish to eliminate the sign-up process and the limit on the number of people attending. Other session coordinators, still prefer to maintain the limit and use the sign-up application. Still others want to establish a limit but don't want to use the sign-up application. To accommodate our volunteer session coordinators, we will be posting our play schedule in a table on our Organized Play page which will identify the sessions and their designated approach. For those sessions that require a sign-up, you will continue to use the link at the bottom of the page to sign-up; which will be updated weekly. For the other sessions, you will show up and sign in, checking off that you are a member. For non-members, they will need to provide their email address for contact tracing. We continue to record participant's names and email addresses to support contact tracing if necessary. This new approach will start next Monday, 5/10, with the sign-up list still posted on Sunday evening around 7 pm. Recommend you review the Organized Play page to familiarize yourself with the various options.
Website Errors – For the last two Sunday's we have experienced an error message “Resource Limit is Reached” when everyone is attempting to login to sign-up at the same time. We believe this is due to so many people trying to login at the same time. We hope that the change to our open play sessions, as mentioned above, will alleviate this issue. However, we are working with a web development company to find a solution. During their work on the website this week, our website became corrupted and was unavailable on Wed. and Thurs. That problem has been resolved and our website is back online. Next Sunday’s sign-up will determine if we need to do anything further. Thanks for your patience.
Ice Rink Courts Repainting the PB Lines – We have learned from Don Schmidt that CA is planning to re-paint the PB lines at the courts behind the Ice Rink. However, we have learned that they will be contracting out the work and the contractor doing the work is unavailable till the last week in May or the first week in June. We have requested yellow paint and are looking forward to getting new lines.
Good Warm-up Exercise - We generally don't do anything that useful in our warm-up time before play begins. Here is a fun warm-up game that practices your cross-court dinking and concentrating on the ball. Let's try this out for 10 or 15 minutes before play and see if it helps when the games begin.
