Saturday morning drop-in change - We will be shifting the Saturday morning play from Thunder Hill Elementary School to the Vantage House tennis courts starting on 10/19/19.   This is typically intermediate to advanced players.  The courts are on the same road that accesses the Historic Oakland Manor house with the address of:

5430 Vantage Point Rd, Columbia, MD 21044

From Route 29:   Take West exit off of R 29 on Route 175-
Get in your left lane, use the 2nd traffic lite  ( first interchange that you can make a left turn)
turn left onto Vantage Point Rd.

Look for the Oakland Sign on your right - just past the Vantage House.  The courts are behind the playground on the right side of Vantage Point Rd. Parking is limited, there are about 10 parking spots on Vantage Point Rd. just past the playground and about 12 parking spots in back of the tennis courts.

There will likely be leaves on the court as there are some large trees that partially cover the court but we should have a blower to clear off the courts.

Public Hearing on Building Pickleball Courts in Howard County - The public hearing will be held this week on Wed. evening, 10/16, starting at 7 pm at the Recreation and Parks headquarters at 7120 Oakland Mills Road, Columbia on Wednesday.   We appreciate all those who have signed up for attending and have about 40 people as of Monday morning.  We would like as many members to attend either wearing their pickleball shirts or carrying their paddles.  We do anticipate some opposition to some of these proposals.  It would be nice if we had more numbers showing greater interest in building more pickleball courts.  Please provide your address when you sign-in so they know you are within Howard County.  Here's the doodle poll if you haven't signed up yet.
