Dear Pickleballers,
Thank you to everyone who played/participated in the Labor Day Tournament. Due to the fabulous efforts of Jan and Duane (and please play next time - I will man the scoring table so you both can join in), it was a fantastic and successful event. So far this year we have had three HCPA sponsored tournaments using three different formats: the first one used a random draw for permanent partners during the day; the second allowed players to select permanent partners prior to the tournament; and this last one used a random draw for different partners for each game. Did you like these formats? We would like to have another tournament in the next month - any suggestions about format? Should we run two mini tournaments at the same location that pairs players and teams of the same self-rated skill level (or run two tournaments at two locations)? We would like to include as many players as possible, so please let us know what we can/should do in the future.
Nets for drop-in play will be set up on the following days and in these locations:
Tuesday 9/4/18: Ice Rink Courts - 9am [NOTE: As of this morning, No Drop-In Play at Locust Park - Still need volunteers to set up]
Thursday 9/6/18: Ice Rink Courts - 9am [NOTE: As of this morning, No Drop-In Play at Locust Park - Still need volunteers to set up]
Saturday 9/8/18: Ice Rink Courts - 9am AND Locust Park Pool Courts - 8am
*NOTE: WE NEED VOLUNTEERS TO SET UP NETS BEGINNING THURSDAY 8/23/18, in order for drop-in play to continue at Locust Park Pool Courts on Tuesday and Thursday mornings. I am back to work starting and will not be available to set up during the week any longer.
